Subaru Shares Details of Its New In-House EV Platform - 开云
As first reported by Automotive News, Subaru showed off a new EV platform, a new battery, new electric-motor technology, and an integrated control unit designed to receive over-the-air updates. The test mule, which is based on a current-generation Outback, uses two electric motors producing more than 500 horsepower. Automotive News reports the prototype could accelerate to 62 mph in less than four seconds. [...] Automotive News also reported that Subaru developed the new platform in roughly half the time normally required. That’s a significant achievement for the company as it works to keep up with Chinese automakers, which have been moving quickly in the EV space. [...] The automaker is also developing more efficient hybrid powertrains and combustion engines, showing that Subaru isn’t putting all of its resources into EVs just yet.
